The CAC Málaga presents the first exhibition in Spain by Rose Wylie. Hullo, Hullo…, curated by Fernando Francés, brings together twenty-nine works by the English artist, some of them being shown for the first time. Wylie, born in the 1930s, surprises and captivates us with the energy, vivacity, and freshness of her work. Her creativity is channelled through her impressions and her memory. On occasions, Wylie leaves aside her brushes to paint directly on the canvas with her hands, taking inspiration from different sources, including history, film, comics, the news, anecdotes, celebrities, and sports.

Rose Wylie

British artist Rose Wylie’s (b. 1934) uniquely recognizable, colorful, and exuberant compositions appear at first glance aesthetically simplistic, not seeming to align with any discernible style or movement, but on closer inspection are revealed to be wittily observed and subtly sophisticated meditations on the nature of visual representation itself.
