Ruth Asawa: Capsule Selection of Prints
On the occasion of the exhibition Ruth Asawa: Doing Is Living at David Zwirner Hong Kong, we are pleased to present a selection of prints by Asawa. In April 2025, a major traveling retrospective on the artist will open at SFMOMA exploring all facets of her dynamic and interconnected practice.

Character Study: Portraits in Print
Explore a selection of works that examine portraiture and its conceptual underpinnings through the lens of printmaking, from the mid-twentieth century to the present. Featuring works by Ruth Asawa, Yayoi Kusama, Victor Man, Kerry James Marshall, Alice Neel, Chris Ofili, Gerhard Richter, Thomas Schütte, and Alex Katz, this presentation showcases prints that explore how a subject’s reproducibility across media and history results in subtle shifts in meaning.
