David Zwirner is pleased to return for the second edition of Frieze Seoul in 2023. The gallery will debut a group of monotypes and paintings by Katherine Bernhardt. Expanding the artist’s unique visual lexicon, these works feature iconic figures irreverently drawn from a pop vernacular, such as the Pink Panther, E.T. and characters from The Muppet Show.
Alongside these, the booth will present paintings by the Swedish artist Mamma Andersson, who recently participated in the 2023 Gwangju Biennale. Also on view will be significant works by Yayoi Kusama, including a painting from her Infinity Nets series, a painting featuring her iconic pumpkin motif, and a self-portrait employing her characteristic polka dots.
The gallery will also present works by Josef Albers, Huma Bhabha, Suzan Frecon, Donald Judd, Joan Mitchell, Giorgio Morandi, Oscar Murillo, Alice Neel, Gerhard Richter, Robert Ryman, Richard Serra, Rose Wylie, and Lisa Yuskavage, among others.
