Pearl Lines at Kölnischer Kunstverein was the first time Price's work was presented comprehensively in Germany, with a focus on both older and newer works, complemented by site-specific wall paintings and drawings.
The artist's mostly small-format work can be divided into paintings and drawings in which he deals with personal emotions and experiences, social conventions and historical developments. His visual formulations typically depict interior or exterior spaces occupied by objects, living beings, signs, symbols and shapes. The works contain references to limbs, figures, palm trees, hats, sofas, urinals and cars as well as the outlines of architecture or vegetation. These image elements, which can sometimes be deciphered more and sometimes less clearly, are not always brought into a clear relationship with one another, so that a form of narration can be felt but cannot be grasped.
