On the occasion of Oscar Murillo's current 

 in Paris, the artist will be in conversation with fellow artist Neal Rock about his recent work. The discussion will be moderated by Lucas Zwirner, Head of Content at David Zwirner.

Neal Rock is a Welsh visual artist & Assistant Professor of Painting at the University of Virginia in in Charlottesville, VA . He holds a BA (hons) degree in painting from the University of Gloucestershire, UK; an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design, & a practice-based Ph.D. in Painting from London’s Royal College of Art. With a visual art practice that encompasses interdisciplinary approaches to painting informed by histories of prosthetics, abstraction, embodiment and post-Humanism, he has exhibited extensively across Europe and the United States since the early 2000s. Rock's work has been featured in commercial solo exhibitions in London, Amsterdam, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. He has participated in international survey exhibitions at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery (Buffalo New York); the Contemporary Arts Museum (Houston); New York’s Storefront for Art & Architecture; London’s Royal Academy of Art and ICA amongst others.

 joins the legendary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Paradein New York. On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Kusama’s 

 balloon will appear in the annual holiday spectacle in front of more than 50 million viewers nationwide, as the latest entry in the Parade’s 

series, which invites celebrated contemporary artists to contribute artworks to the high flying lineup.

 balloon was developed by the artist from face motifs that appear in her 

 series of paintings—a body of work that she began in 2009. Vibrant and animated, the paintings embody Kusama’s innovative exploration of form and revolve around a tension between abstraction and figuration. The artist’s signature dots—which recur throughout her practice—also feature prominently in the Macy’s Parade balloon design.

, is the artist's most personal book to date. Kusama brings us into her private world through poetic recollections, giving insight into her creative process and the essential role language plays in her paintings, sculptures, and daily life.

Kiki Mazzucchelli is an independent curator, editor and writer working between London and São Paulo. Among her latest exhibition projects are 

(Sotheby’s S2 Gallery, London and Galeria Almeida & Dale, São Paulo), 2019 and 

 (currently on view at Mendes Wood DM, New York and Modern Art, London). She has written extensively on the work of artists from Latin America and contributed to the catalogue of Maxwell Alexandre’s exhibition
