, the gallery’s new publisher of original prints by contemporary artists, launching today with three new print editions by Marcel Dzama. Available now on 

, Dzama's prints are in edition of 75 and were printed by master printer Maurice Sanchez of Derriere L’Etoile Studios in collaboration with the artist.

“I love the tradition of printmaking, how it changed the world and the ability to make multiples but still be an original work. Some of my favorite works of art were prints made by Dürer and Goya,” said Marcel Dzama. Printmaking has a rich global history steeped in innovation and collaboration, with techniques that have been refined for centuries to achieve visual effects unattainable in any other medium. Artists today continue to explore printmaking’s distinct qualities, working alongside experts in the field to realize technically and conceptually ambitious works of art.

Utopia Editions will participate in this tradition of experimentation, providing artists opportunities to work with master printmakers across the globe and enabling a broader audience to collect museum-quality work by leading artists.

Following the Dzama prints, Utopia Editions will release lithographs by Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy in December 2021, and a silkscreen edition by Ebecho Muslimova in early 2022. Additional artists who will release prints with Utopia Editions include Katherine Bernhardt, Cy Gavin, Raymond Pettibon, Cynthia Talmadge, and Luc Tuymans, among others.

 is on view at David Zwirner Paris beginning Saturday, November 27 through January 29, 2022.

Mark Godfrey is a curator and critic based in London. From 2007 to 2021 he was senior curator at Tate Modern, where he curated and cocurated shows including Soul of a Nation and retrospectives of Sigmar Polke, Roni Horn, Franz West, and Gerhard Richter. Outside Tate, he curated 

Christopher Williams: The Production Line of Happiness

, a retrospective that debuted at Art Institute of Chicago before traveling to The Museum of Modern Art in New York and Whitechapel Art Gallery in London. He won the Absolut Prize for Art Writing in 2015 and recently coedited the 

 at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh in Arles, 

 at the Wexner, and Anicka Yi’s Turbine Hall project, 

, at Tate Modern.

Mark Godfrey Walkthrough of standard pose

Toba Khedoori’s first solo exhibition in Germany is now open at the 

 in Kassel, on view from October 9, 2021, through February 20, 2022. Curated by Moritz Wesseler, this major survey presents twenty-three works created between 1994 and 2021.

The exhibition includes detailed drawings of ordinary motifs—from buildings and windows to grass, clouds, and horizons, among others—on large-scale sheets of paper treated with wax, as well as paintings on canvas that Khedoori began making in 2008. Considerably smaller than Khedoori’s works on paper, the paintings consider the tension between human beings and the natural world.

“The Australian artist with Iraqi roots develops a philosophy of the everyday in her impressive works painted with old-masterly precision…Toba Khedoori questions the philosophical foundations and individual and aesthetic preconditions of our perception and, above all, how we locate ourselves in this world,” noted Eva Claudia Scholtz, Executive Director of the Hessische Kulturstiftung.

To accompany the exhibition, the Fridericianum will also publish a catalogue featuring an essay by curator Mark Godfrey. Khedoori will present a solo exhibition at David Zwirner in New York in 2023, of which selected works are included in the Fridericianum show.

Rose Blake is an illustrator and artist making drawings and pictures from a railway arch by a canal in London. Her book 

A History of Pictures for Children: From Cave Paintings to Computer Drawings

 (2018), written by David Hockney and Martin Gayford, won the New Horizons award at the 2019 Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Her project, 

, was published alongside Warhol’s retrospective at Tate Modern, London, in 2020. She won the D&AD New Blood award in 2009. She has worked with a wide range of clients including 

, Transport for London, and Disney. She is currently illustrating her ninth children’s book.
