Francis Alÿs: Children’s Games

From October 15, 2022 to April 10, 2023, the Copenhagen Contemporary in Denmark is presenting Francis Alÿs: Children’s Games, the first major solo exhibition featuring the artist’s work in Scandinavia. 
 
The exhibition features thirty films from Alÿs’s Children's Games series, some of which are on view in the artist’s presentation at the Belgian Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale until November 27th. The video series features footage from around the world in which kids are captured playing classic children’s games. With humanity and insight into the local conditions, Alÿs captures how children’s games add meaning and often repeat rituals, symbols, and traditions that traverse cultures.
