May 8, 2025–August 10, 2025

The Barbican Centre has announced that Huma Bhabha will be the subject of a two-person exhibition with Alberto Giacomett curated by Shanay Jhaveri. Significant works by Giacometti on loan from the Fondation Giacometti will be installed alongside work by three different contemporary artists for a period of three months each. Huma Bhabha will be the first of the three, opening on May 8, 2025.

Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) was one of the most significant European sculptors of the 20th century. Responding to the pain and devastation caused by the Second World War, his works proposed a new perspective on humanity and the collective psyche. It is the exploration of these timeless and existential concerns that forms the connecting threads between the three living artists and Giacometti.
