This deluxe Elizabeth Peyton set, available in a limited edition of 50, features a new etching by the artist along with a bespoke, illustrated monograph.
The print, Ang (Angel), depicts Ang Tshering Lama from Nepal, who was an inspiration for Peyton’s 2023 exhibition Angel at David Zwirner London. On printmaking, Peyton has said: “I would say that, historically, prints have typically been the afterword to a work. But for me it’s a foreword. Often I’ll make a work after something I make in the print studio.” Published by Utopia Editions, each print is signed and numbered by the artist.
The accompanying monograph explores subjects including angels–known and unknown—mountains, light, reflected color, human relationships, and love. Full-color plates of eighteen new works are accompanied by a text from Lucas Zwirner.
The print and book are presented together in a custom, cloth-covered clamshell box, which is fully lined in purple Italian cloth with blind debossing and silver foil stamping. The print is housed in a matching cloth-covered and paper-lined folder with a black ribbon for closure.
